This is an actual quote from the Detroit Lions regarding why the team doesn't have cheerleaders: We believe the game-day experience at Ford Field is one of the best in the NFL.
As long as I can remember, since my first Lions game at age ten or so, they have never had cheerleaders. Most of that time, they played at the Silverdome which had absolutely no character or charm. During those twenty five or so years, they have made the playoffs five times, and it's not as if the postseason is on the immediate horizon.
I don't care whether or not the Lions have cheerleaders or not. I just find it insulting that the Lions justify the lack of cheerleaders by the "experience."

They probably came up with that line when Barry was still around and they never bothered to change it.
Or they are in denial and really the Lions game is a great game day experience
